Since the 1960s Marianne Bernadotte has been involved in activities related to managing physical disability. She helped Dr. Per Uddén to launch his technologically-advanced electric wheelchair, the Permobil. According to Per Uddén, Marianne Bernadotte’s efforts as a networker and opener of doors were decisive; without them Per Uddén believes that his invention would not have secured the support and backing from industrialists and politicians necessary to develop and produce the Permobil. Marianne Bernadotte’s devotion and energetic work has as a consequence been of great benefit to many with a physical disability both in Sweden and abroad.
