    In 2000 Sigvard and Marianne Bernadotte’s Research Laboratories for Children’s Ophthalmology were established at the Karolinska Institute and St Erik’s Eye Care Hospital, where research of a high international standard is conducted by eye specialists from St Erik’s and the Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital, as well with as guest researchers from different countries. Marianne Bernadotte has with singular energy driven research projects of great importance in dyslexia and children’s ophthalmology at the Karolinska Institute. The foundations she has helped establish have contributed decisively to the acceleration of dyslexia and child ophthalmology research nationally and internationally.
